NASA Summer Research Experience for Tribal College and University Students and Faculty

The American Indian Higher Education Consortium is working with NASA to recruit at least 40 Tribal College and University students and faculty to participate in 10-week summer research experience projects. This is the first NASA agency-wide summer research program for students from the Tribal Colleges and Universities.

Research activities may continue throughout the academic year, and all participants will be required to share information about their projects with other Tribal Colleges and Universities and K-12 students from their local communities. Institutional project teams should consist of either one Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics faculty member and at least one student majoring in a STEM discipline; or two or more students majoring in STEM disciplines.

The application requirements for students are:
1. Completion of their first or second year at a Tribal College.
2. STEM or business major.
3. 3.0 GPA.

The Letter of Application should include:
1. NASA-related research interest.
2. Description of education and career goals.
3. Two letters of recommendation.
4. Most recent transcript.
